Andrew Palka works as a Customer Funding Specialist for NuMotion; a complex rehab tech and mobility company. There he finds purpose in supporting their clients as he is able to relate to their experiences being a wheelchair user himself. Andrew has Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and uses a power wheelchair for his mobility needs. Andrew graduated from The Culinary Institute of Charleston with an associate degree in Culinary Arts Technology. Upon graduation, due to the progression of his disease, he had to shift to a new career path. He then attended Vocational Rehab’s Informational Technology Training Center and completed their Business Applications Plus program in Columbia, South Carolina. This supplied him with the resources and skill sets to set him on the trajectory of gainful employment while being awarded the Consumer Achievement Award by the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Association, the Employment Achievement Award by the S.C. Governor’s Committee, and Employment Achievement of the year award by the Summerville Mayor’s Committee in 2020-2021. Andrew Palka is 29 years old and resides in Summerville, South Carolina with his wife and his one-year-old son.
