John M. Connelly, JD, is the Director of Research and Grants for the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR). He has worked in the public VR field continuously since 1980.  Since joining CSAVR in July of 2009, he has gained greater experience in the development and work of grants examining the provision of vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities and identifying ways to improve these services and outcomes for said individuals as well as business. Mr. Connelly also assists with the legislative work of the organization. He participated in the development of and coordinates a semi-annual training program for VR leaders and emerging leaders.      

He supports several professional networks and responds to member queries and regularly contributes to the newsletters to members. Like other CSAVR staff, John supports assigned CSAVR standing committees. He is CSAVR’s primary staff liaison to SSA. Prior to joining CSAVR he worked in the Ohio Combined VR agency starting in 1980 where he served as General Counsel, Deputy Director and from 2001 until he joined CSAVR as the Executive Director of the agency.
